Way Back Wednesday
In July of 2006 Mike and I along with my parents, sister, Aunt Judy, Uncle Boo, and Maddie went to St. John. We were there during Carnival so the island was a little busier than it usually is when we've traveled there. We thought we lost all the pictures from our trip when Mike's computer crashed, but I recently found them!
We usually stay at Battery Hill. I think we stayed somewhere else once, but Battery Hill is our favorite. It is the place with the pink roof on top of the hill. The view from the balcony where we stayed.
Whenever I have to get my blood pressure taken, I imagine I am here.
It is always pretty low too!

Mike is making a funny face in this picture. We had fun snorkeling around that tiny island behind us.
Beth snorkeling. The inner tube is in case a shark or something scary comes near her. She quickly jumps up on the tube.
Walking along a path to a good snorkeling spot.

One of our last nights in St. John we made dinner for our parents and ate by the pool.

I really hope we can go back again in the near future. Maybe if my sister ever gets married she will have her wedding there :) I think it would be fun to take a trip there with all the cousins some day too, now that we all have husbands or significant others!

Playdate
Owen is always asking me to take a picture of him and Adam. These were taken after they woke up from their naps this afternoon.

Weekend
We had a great weekend!
Friday morning Mike and I went on a run. We ran for 1 hour (7 miles). I'm more than halfway there! Then, we took the kids to the pool. Adam had fun dipping his feet and legs in the pool for a few minutes.
I think he is going to love the water. He gets so excited at bath time that he kicks his legs and splashes the entire time and moves his arms up and down. If he is cranky, all we have to do is put him in his bathtub and he is happy.
Then, in the afternoon I met some of my friends in Lancaster at Olive Garden for lunch. We always have such a nice time and have so much to talk about. We could sit for hours and hours and not run out of things to talk about. Brianna made the comment that we all have so much to say that no one really finishes what she wants to say because we get off track and are on to another topic so quickly. Ha!
Saturday morning we had a birthday party for Owen's friend Tyler. His party was held at the Cleona Fire Station. Owen had sooooo much fun! He got to go for two rides on the fire truck.
A fireman also talked to the kids about fire safety. The cupcakes were a hit!
It was a really nice birthday party.
Later that evening, Mike and I went to a wedding reception for one of Mike's previous soccer players. It really made me feel old seeing all these young kids that just graduated college. It was nice to get away, just the two of us, for a little while.
Today we went to lunch at Hoss's for Levi's fundraiser. Then, we went to the pool, came home for a bit, and went back to the pool again! It is just so hot that there is really nothing else to do outside besides swim!

Rambling
I'm looking forward to making Adam's baby food with the new baby food maker that Papa and Finny got me for Christmas. I plan on making applesauce, carrots, green beans, peas, and squash.
I could not find organic pears, peaches, or sweet potatoes at the grocery store today. Hopefully Adam starts to enjoy eating solids because right now he does not. He makes an awful face when I give him baby food like it is the most disgusting thing in the world. He is also really constipated from the rice cereal and has not pooped in probably three days. I'm a little concerned. I called the doctor and they said to give it a week.
I am excited that every single piece of laundry is washed. In fact, the last load is in the washer right now, but about a minute ago Mike informed me that the washer is making a horrible noise and not spinning. I guess I should be glad that all my wash is done. We've had our washer and dryer since we first moved into our town house in 2003. How long are they supposed to last? I really hope this one lasts.
I tried making a strawberry smoothie tonight with our new blender (that I got Mike for father's day), but it turned out pretty nasty. I really want to find a good recipe for smoothies.
Our new Ergo baby carrier arrived today. I only wish we would have had it to use with Owen. It is great and does not hurt my back! Mike tried it out today and was being silly when I took his picture.
I am going to lunch with some friends tomorrow in Lancaster WITHOUT kids. I love my boys, but it is so nice to go out with friends and not have to quickly eat my food and entertain kids the entire time. I can't wait.
I have been trying to stick as closely to the training schedule for my half marathon as I can. Mike and I ran for 50 minutes on Monday. It was brutally hot. Sometimes he runs in front of me. Seeing his nice, skinny, runner legs is a little discouraging, but then I remind myself that I was pregnant for 18 full months, he was not. Today I walked and did some hills while pushing Owen in the jogger stroller. He did not have a nap this afternoon so he fell asleep during our walk. It was especially sweet since he is getting older and his days of napping in the stroller are coming to an end :(

I think that's all. I just finished pumping, drinking my favorite hot drink (General Foods International Vanilla Bean Decaf Latte), and blogging. All at the same time.
