On Friday we took the boys to the fair for the second time. I guess Owen is not the only one that does not like roosters. The minute Adam heard the roosters cockadoodledooing he freaked! He would not stop crying for the longest time which is really unlike him. Just a couple minutes before his melt down a nice lady commented on how laid back he seemed because he was so relaxed in his stroller with his one leg propped up on the tray. If only she would have seen him a few minutes later. He was NOT a happy baby.
Friday night Mike took Owen back to the fair for the Tough Truck competition. I stayed home with Adam since he's been going to bed around 6:30pm lately. They had such a good time and Owen has been playing with his trucks ever since. I'm sure he probably got some looks from the other spectators. He is still having trouble with his "tr" blend. He says his "f" sound instead. He's really into trucks, but it does not sound like a good word when he says "truck". We'll continue to work on it.

Saturday morning Mike and I ran 8 miles. We left at 7am and ran on the trail. I absolutely LOVE the rail trail, especially in the morning. I felt really good during my run and I think that's because the weather was so nice. It was almost a little chilly at first with very little humidity. A big difference from last weekend's weather. I thought I might collapse last weekend during our run.
We hung out at home all day Saturday and stayed outside as much as possible since it was so nice. Mike and Owen spent some time lying in the grass looking at the clouds. We rode bike, went for walks, played basketball, drew with sidewalk chalk, and blew bubbles. Then, Saturday night, Mike, Papa, and Owen went back to the fair AGAIN for the demolition derby. At first I did not want Owen to go. I am really careful (probably a bit too much) about what he sees--especially on TV. I rarely even let the news on if he is in the same room. I thought the demolition derby would be too violent and scary. Plus, Owen is really into safety right now. He makes sure we obey all traffic signals and is the first to tell us when we are not being safe. He worries when he sees someone in danger. Mike told me that the derby was almost the same as what he saw the night before during the Tough Truck competition so I caved. I really wanted to go along too, but I stayed back with Adam. Next year, I am definitely going!

(This picture was taken because Owen liked the car, not because of what it says. The face he is making cracks me up!)Owen definitely exercised his fashion freedom this weekend! This morning he came down the steps with two shirts. One was a baseball shirt, the other a Toystory shirt. He told me he was going to give me a choice (since I did that to him the day before). I picked the baseball shirt since it was chilly out and the Toystory shirt was sleeveless. He ended up wearing the Toystory shirt anyway so it really was not a choice.
Sunday was Mel's birthday so we went over to Papa and Finney's house to celebrate. Owen is great at helping other people celebrate their birthday. Mel was kind enough to let Owen blow out his candles. They have such a good time together!
After lunch and cake, the boys played in the yard for a little while.
