Sweet Memories

Today would have been Papa Doc's birthday.  I found this picture while looking over the pictures I thought I lost.  Made me smile.

Special Day

We had a nice weekend and enjoyed lots of outside time.  Friday night Owen slept over at Papa and Finney's house.  It was just Adam and I at home so we put on our jammies (really early) and played X Box Just Dance for Kids.  I never realized how much fun it is.  Probably because I never did it until Adam made me and I have to admit, it's a lot of fun, especially when no other adults are around to watch me.  We also spent a lot of time coloring.  When it was time to go to bed Adam got really sad because he missed his brother.  He wanted to call him and this is about how the conversation went:

Adam: Hi Owen
Owen: Hi
Adam:  Owen I'm reawy sad because I miss you.
Owen: ok
Adam: I just miss you and it's making me sad and feel wike I have to cry
Owen: alright

Yes, Adam is full of emotion and Owen clearly is not.  In fact, he told Papa and Finney it was relaxing at their house.  ha!

This morning, Papa took Owen up to the Hershey stadium to watch the Cedar Crest basketball game.  Owen has become quite the follower and he and Mike haven't missed any games lately.  Mike is away this weekend so Papa took Owen.

While Owen was at the game, Adam, Lala, and I went to Build-a-Bear.  This was Lala's gift to Adam for his birthday.  I had never been there before.  It was really cute and the people that worked there were super sweet and friendly.

First he picked out his bear and the outfit he wanted to dress him in.
Then he picked out the sound he wanted inside his bear.  He picked a Happy Birthday song.

Then he got to step on a pedal and this nice lady helped stuff his bear.
He also got to pick out a heart and put it inside his bear.
After that he gave his bear a bath.

And dressed him
Then he named him- Superbear and put in the information for his birth certificate.

Telling his bear to "smile" for the camera.
 Such a fun time!
Afterward, we went to lunch.  Superbear got to come to lunch too!
Then we came home to spend some MUCH needed time outdoors!
They thought it was summer and begged to take their coats off.  I guess after temps in the teens and close to zero most of winter, 60 does feel like summer!  I know it's just a tease though.  Colder temps are returning next week :(
So we will enjoy it while we can..
Owen's friend was at the school with his family and the two of them played basketball for at least an hour.  It was so nice to be outside.

And in case you're wondering... Baby and Superbear are already friends.
See Baby's socks?  Those are Adam's.  He insisted I put them on her this morning.

#tbt

I don't understand hash tags (I think that's what they're called).  When you use them does it take your pictures to a specific spot?
Anyway, a couple weeks ago my computer hard drive crashed.  Thankfully they were able to recover most of my things.  The one thing they weren't able to recover were all my pictures.  I never thought to back up my thousands of pictures in case my computer ever crashed.  I was sooooooo sad.  All the pictures of my kids as babies... gone.

Our wonderful tech guy said he saved my old hard drive and he'd see if any of my pictures were on there (I think the big bag of M&Ms I brought him may have helped).  After a few hours he was able to find all my pictures and transfer them onto my new hard drive.

I was just looking through some of the pictures.  I find, as I look back, that the pictures I took that were insignificant at the time and probably didn't even make it on the blog, are some of the most precious and meaningful pictures.
Adam was so pudgy and cute!  Look at those legs and those wrists and that chin!
I'm also fantasizing about warm, sunny, short-wearing, playground-playing weather.

Adam's Craftastic Party

This year Adam had his first friend birthday party.  Up until now, we've only done family parties.  I felt a little guilty since Owen had a friend birthday party as young as 2, but Adam never seemed to want anyone other than family at his parties (until this year).

I suggested a big party at Bounce U with all his friends, but Adam chose a smaller party at Michaels Craft Store with only a few of his close friends.  This boy LOVES crafts so it was the perfect party for him.
The kids started off with canvas painting, then they each got a little bird house to paint.  After that, we had stations and they could go from station to station doing face painting, spin art, air brushing, and necklace making.

Owen really wanted to be in charge of face painting.  He even had options drawn for people to choose from.  Mike was a good sport and let him paint his face.  He chose the "scratches" option.

The Szajda's were brave enough to allow Adam to paint Teddy's face.
We also had a little photo booth and some of the pictures turned out really cute.

We fed the kids hot dogs, spaghetti, chips, and applesauce and for dessert- cupcakes!

Adam's party favor was a little wooden airplane, boat, helicopter, or race car to assemble and then paint.

Adam really enjoyed his birthday party and is already asking how long until his next birthday:)  Thanks to everyone that helped!
