So Long Summer

We had a great summer.  Plenty of fun trips, but lots of time spent at home and days at the pool.  It went by quickly, but it always does so I've come to expect that. 

The 4H Fair happens every year at the end of July and that's when I know summer is really winding down.  I love this fair.  We go early in the morning to visit the animals, do the scavenger hunt, eat yummy food, and ride the tractors.  The tractors are a big hit.  We could spend hours trying out each one.  I love that Owen is still young enough to enjoy it.

We loved spending special time with Bea.  I think she loved the tractors even more than my boys!

Our neighbors had suite tickets to a Lancaster Barnstormers game and invited us to join them.  Such a fun night!


We got to watch Caleb a few times this summer and had so much fun!  We took him to Chocolate World for the first time.

Paige and the girls came for a visit at the beginning of August.  We miss them a lot now so it was nice to spend a few days together.  We had a "spa day" and painted our nails.  Owen and Adam too!

Playing in the creek.  The water is always around 56 degrees.  The kids were having a challenge- who could dunk their entire head in the creek.  They all ended up doing it. 


We celebrated my birthday in August.  I have been begging Mike for a HUGE tree swing.  He kept telling me it wasn't possible, but he ended up making it happen and I LOVE it.  It's the same swing my dad made for us when I was little.  Adam calls the tree "Our giving tree" :)  This picture doesn't show how high the swing goes.

We went to a polo match for my birthday.  I love going to polo and would go every Sunday if I could. 


Owen started soccer and had a tournament on one of the hottest days of the year.  The only picture I took was of the boys playing with sand while waiting between games. 

Mike and I had a wedding to go to so the boys slept over at Aunt Beth and Uncle Eric's house.  Beth sent me this pic of the boys in the tub.  Cracks me up!

Adam took guitar lessons this summer and I thought this picture was so cute. 

 Shoe shopping is more fun when you run into famous basketball players.

 We took a trip to the North Museum for their Bugs, Bees, and Butterflies exhibit.

The boys really wanted to have our neighbors sleep over this summer so last weekend we made it happen!

The boys had a sleepover at Papa and Finney's house this week.  One of their favorite things to do there is get a bath in the big, whirlpool tub and Finney lets them get a little carried away with bubbles!

Love these boys so much and I miss them when I am back at work.  Very thankful to have summers off to spend with them!

Lake Trip

Last weekend we went to Raystown and had so much fun playing in the lake! The weather was perfect. The lake water was warm, but still refreshing. 




The boys both were able to knee board and loved every minute of it!

Owen was able to get up on water skis this year!

Adam tried water skiing, but might need another year or two before he's able to do it.

I tried knee boarding for the first time and was, surprisingly, able to do it.  However, my muscles were so sore afterwards and a week later, they still hurt.  Ha!  I've gotta keep up with my boys and try to stay cool :)

A few weeks earlier, Owen went to the lake with Papa, Finney, and Mel.  He had so much fun out on the lake.  Even Mel went tubing!

 How cool is that?!  He's so much fun!  You don't see many great grandparents tubing.
