Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday we took the boys to the local pumpkin patch.  There's just something about kids and pumpkin patch pictures that I love.

Long overdue update

It's hard to believe we've been back to school for almost a month and I haven't even blogged about it.

Back in August, on the first day of school, Lala and Caleb stopped by to watch Owen and Adam head off to school for their first day. 

Can't believe these big boys are in third grade!!

 

Owen and Adam really like school.  Actually, Adam LOVES it.  There's nothing quite like watching your baby get on the school bus and head off to kindergarten for the first time. 

My very favorite part of my day is when both our boys get off the bus and I get to hear all about their day.

As much as Adam loves school, he hasn't been napping and is exhausted by 7:00pm.

Papa and Finney took the boys up to the lake for a few days before Labor Day.  Mike and I were able to go out to dinner two nights in a row!

It was nice being kid-free, but we were happy to see them after a few days and spend some time out on the lake for the last time this year.  The boys spent a lot of time tubing, knee boarding, and tube wrestling.

Owen was exhausted after a day of playing on the lake and even though he's 8, he still likes to snuggle now and then :)

Maddie and Wynne came for a visit and we all met out for lunch. 

The highlight of my lunch...

Adam is always asking to go on a date with me.  He loves spending time just the two of us.  He picked Friendly's a few weeks ago.  Not my favorite place, but this guy made it worth it...

Owen is going to be joining chess club at school and he's been trying to teach Mike and I how to play.

And today might have been one of the most gorgeous days of the year.  Perfect for celebrating this special guys 38th birthday!  We had to keep things low key because he was up the night before with the stomach bug.
