The Big Catch-Up

Two weeks ago Mike had to work at McDonald's as a fundraiser for his school.  The boys enjoyed making little messes for him to clean up :)

Last week I was able to be a "secret reader" in Owen's classroom.  I loved it and really appreciate any time I am able to go into his classroom. I was able to stay for the "Read-a-latte cafe" afterwards.  Owen read a poem about basketball.
We've been spending more and more time playing outside.  It's still not very warm, but the bright sunshine makes it feel warmer than it really is.
This past Saturday we took the boys to the local fire hall for breakfast with the Easter Bunny.  Adam could not wait to meet the special bunny.
At one point he noticed the bunny's human  ankles and I had some explaining to do- we told him it was one of the Easter Bunny's helpers.  He's very busy this time of year and relies on his highly qualified helpers.  Owen told me the other day, "I totally get Santa Claus because I saw a picture of him.  I get the tooth fairy too because I saw a picture of her" (thank you Pinterest!).  "I just don't know about the leprechaun and Easter Bunny."  I suggested we put out the game camera this year and see if we can get a picture of the bunny.

It was so nice seeing Wynne and Caleb :)

Mr. Adam started swimming lessons and loved every minute of it.
Today we spent the afternoon at Skyzone trampoline park with a few of Owen's friends.  Instead of an actual birthday party, we decided to keep it simple this year.
After all that jumping, we went out for pizza.  The boys enjoyed watching the basketball game that was on TV.
 It was a fun weekend!

family.

We had a really fun weekend.  Before I show pictures from our weekend I want to add one from Friday.  Owen's teacher from 1st grade is now teaching kindergarten.  She invited him to read to her kinder kiddos on Friday.  She sent me this picture and it made my day.
Owen has come so far.  A few years ago he NEVER would have read in front of a group of kids.  He had a lot of social anxiety and we were told that once his mind and his maturity caught up to each other things would get better.... and they have.  So much!!!  Since he forgot to tell me that he was going to be reading to another class we couldn't practice.  Thankfully he read the same Ninja Turtles book he's read about 538 times.

We had a great weekend with family.  Saturday we got to spend time with Paige, Sam, and Ella.  Then, that afternoon, my mom, Aunt Sally, myself, Paige and her girls went to see Cinderella.  Being a mom of boys, I REALLY appreciated some girly time.  It was so much fun going with Ella and Sam and imagining what they were thinking during the movie.  It was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time- absolutely beautiful!!!  I can't wait to see it again.  Grab some girls and go see it!
Early Sunday morning we packed up and drove to the Poconos to visit Maddie, Below, and Wynne and see their new house.  This was my second time seeing Wynne.  Maddie stopped home for a night earlier in the week and I snuck over to see her.

I loved seeing her again Sunday.  Wynne was so good and didn't mind being passed from person to person.  We all got lots of snuggle time with her.  At one point, Wynne was getting a little bit fussy so I gave her to Adam and she immediately looked into his eyes and relaxed.  I'm pretty sure he's a mini baby whisperer.
It ended up being a little family reunion.  Lots of babies.  Lots of cousins.  Lots of love :)
Louisa didn't mind Adam's overly affectionate personality.  She gave him lots of hugs and wet kisses.

We all went out for lunch before heading over to The Great Wolf Lodge.  The boys were beyond excited to swim and play!!
They loved the arcade too!
After an afternoon of playing in the water park, we got take out and had cupcakes to celebrate all the recent birthdays in our family.
Little cousins interacting for the first time.
Adam crashed early that night, but Owen and Bea headed downstairs for story time.
As far as the waterpark...the large crowds and lines were a little overwhelming, but seeing the smiles on our boys' faces made it all worth it.  I haven't seen Owen smile that much in a while.  Adam was a trooper and did most of the big slides. I wish I had pictures of our boys playing in the waterpark, but I left my phone back in the hotel room.  I wanted to be able to play and not worry about losing my phone or getting it wet.  I wish we would have brought Mike's GoPro camera, but we forgot it.
All that swimming and sliding tired these boys out.  Love Owen's headrest!
We enjoyed all the family time and are missing our cousins.  Can't wait until Easter!

Lately...

After a very snowy week last week, we are enjoying the sunshine and warmer temperatures of this week.

This is what our basement looked like...

A sure sign of a good snow day!

Last week during one of our snow days I took the boys to the grocery store.  They recently got a bunch of carts for kids and I was happily surprised when Owen grabbed a cart to push around the store.  Just when I think he's growing up too fast and he's a big kid, he reminds me that he is still little and I absolutely love it.  So if you saw me in Weis that day, I was the crazy mom trying to sneak pictures of my boys pushing their carts (because if Owen noticed me making a big deal about it I was afraid he might stop).
Over the weekend Adam and I met my sister, Caleb, and mom for lunch.  We told Adam he was Cal's babysitter and he took his job VERY seriously :)

Oh I love them

Saturday afternoon Mike and I went on our February date (a few days late).  For Christmas I got him a year of dates.  In February we were supposed to go to Troegs Brewery.  We have never been there.  We decided to go cross country skiing before heading to the brewery.  Mike had been out that morning and a few days before that and said it was beautiful!  It was very pretty.  I really enjoyed it, despite two big blisters.  We went to Troegs afterwards, but the parking lot was completely packed and we couldn't get a parking spot so we came back and ate at The Hide-A-Way.  It was delicious!!!  Haven't been there in a long time.  We'll have to do Troegs another time.

Sunday was incredible.  The sun was out and it was finally feeling a bit like spring.  I spent hours lounging on our front porch.  It was glorious!!!!!

At one point, Owen was curled up on Mike's lap and Adam was on my lap.  My happy place:)

Then Mike took a foot selfie...

Here's to more sunshine and warm temps so we can all play outside!
