Great weekend

Sadly, this is the only picture I took this weekend.  Adam is blowing a wish weed.  I taught him how to do it last week:)
We had such a nice weekend.  Friday was Owen's first t-ball game.  Saturday morning it was really cold out so we took the boys in to play at Club Kid which they LOVE so much that it's hard to pry them away when it's time to leave.  Saturday night my mom watched the boys so Mike and I could go on a much-needed, long overdue, date night.  We went out to dinner to celebrate Mike's new position.  He'll be taking the head principal job at his school beginning in July.  He didn't want me to write that on here, but since this blog is mainly a scrapbook for our boys to read one day, I want them to know the important accomplishments of their dad :)  Dinner was delicious and afterwards we got together with some friends.  A great way to end the night!

This morning we all went to church.  I love church.  I always have since I was a little girl.  There are some services (actually pretty many) where I feel like the pastor's message is meant for me and today was definitely one of them.  I told Mike I think Pastor Al has our house and car wired.  He even said, "Mike and Sarah" during the service.  I'm not kidding.  It was a good message.  I'm bummed that I didn't take any pictures of the boys.  I had them dressed alike and they looked pretty stinkin' cute.  Thanks Kate for the matching outfits you got them for Christmas!

After church we headed over to my grandpa's house to pick up the millions of sticks that have taken over his yard.  It didn't take nearly as long as any of us thought it would probably because we had two extra sets of hands!  Owen and Adam were actually very helpful.  Maybe Mike will change his mind and want a third child after he saw all the work that can be accomplished in a short amount of time :)

T-ball

Tonight was Owen's first official t-ball game.  It was a long and slow game, but sooooo funny to watch.
Owen was very focused and had a good game.  He had his first "official" home run and had a great time.
Practicing ground balls.
Warming up his throwing arm:)
Adam maxin' and relaxin' with his snacks.

Happy Weekend!

Bring Your Son to Work Day

Today was "Bring Your Child to Work Day" and I have been looking forward to this day all year:)  The last time I was working, Owen was only 2 years old and too young to bring to work with me.  This year, he is the big 5 so I knew he could completely handle it.  Finny brought him in at 2:00pm and he stayed with me for rest of the day.  When he arrived my kids were at special so he followed me around as I got things ready for math.  We stopped by the library and checked out our sweet library aides bug collection that she brought into school.  It's amazing and as Owen was looking at all her cool bugs, he asked her, "But where's the bed bug?"  hahahaha!  Our district has had a bit of a bed bug problem and he must have overheard Mike and I talking about it at home.  I thought it was so funny, but Mrs. O'Neil's response was even better... She told him that is one bug she doesn't have, but she really wants one.

I was a little concerned how Owen would do with my "very spirited" students.  He has a history of being extremely anxious in certain social situations and I had no idea how he would react.  He's been into school with me a bunch of times, but never when it is full of students.   I was shocked at how well he did.  My students were super excited that he was visiting and it took everything I had to try to keep them focused on me and math instead of looking at Owen the entire time, but we got through it.  Our lesson was on ounces and pounds and Owen raised his hand and answered some questions.  He was my little helper too and I think he loved every minute of the attention.  At times he was swarmed by my students and given many high fives and hugs.  He even acted a little goofy at times which was nice to see.  We've been through some trying times with social anxiety so seeing him so comfortable and even acting a little silly is a relief.

I meant to take some pictures, but things were too crazy at the end of the day and I completely forgot.  Plus, I couldn't have any students in my pictures and that would have been hard since they were all over Owen.

20 more days :)

On an unrelated topic... I don't like Blogger's new format at all and it sounds like other bloggers don't like it either.  I'm hoping they change it.  It's really confusing and for some reason my font has changed.  I need a blog makeover.  My pictures are outdated and we need a new header picture.  I'll put that on my summer "to do list" :)

23 1/2

That's how many days of school (with kids) we have left.  Our students' last day is before Memorial Day this year.  I am really looking forward to a long summer with my boys.  And I can't wait until our week long beach trip with friends (and babies) at the beginning of June!!

Owen officially started t-ball last Monday and he seems to really like it!  I was worried the pace would be too slow for him since he's used to constant activity with soccer, but it's a nice change and I think he enjoys the laid-backness (if that's a word) of t-ball.
I've heard games are brutal to watch because they are so slow, but there's a lot of silly things going on (like kids picking flowers, digging in the sand, running off the field to go play by the creek, etc.) that I think we'll be pretty entertained.

Daddy is helping to coach.

Mike was away yesterday and most of today for a race.  The boys and I played outside and went to the playground.  We got home just before the storm came.

I love sitting out on front porch, especially during storms.  The boys favorite thing is to make forts out there using every. single. pillow and blanket in our house.

I love these two pictures of the boys reading before bed.

Weekend Highlights

This morning Maddie, Allison, and I ran in the Hershey 10k.  It wasn't a very exciting course to run, however I loved the distance.  5ks are too fast for me and I don't have the time to train for a half marathon, so the 10k was the perfect distance.  It rained while we waited at the starting line, then stopped and the weather was perfect for the race, then rained again on the way home.  My goal was to run it under 1 hour and I did, so I'm happy with that:)
After the race, my sister drove up and we all went in to celebrate my sweet Ollie's 90th birthday.  She was awake for a few minutes and when she fell asleep, Adam yelled "Wake up Jeff!" (from the Wiggles) and she opened her eyes right away and laughed. She still has the best laugh.

We had a nice lunch after visiting Ollie, then came home to enjoy the beautiful weather.  We stayed outside all day, except to watch the Flyers.
Game faces...

However, between periods, we were back outside to play our own game of hockey.
Yes, Mike is using a broom because we didn't have enough hockey sticks for everyone.  haha!

And now... I am super exhausted and can't wait to crawl into bed.  This weekend went fast.  I hope the week does the same!!

Here are some pictures from Easter Sunday...

Doesn't Owen look 15 instead of 5 years old holding that iphone?  I can tell when he is really concentrating on something because he sticks his tongue out.

Presents from Lala... Silly String was a huge hit.  It was Owen's secret web weapon which he sprayed all over the yard.  It was gone in 30 minutes.

Another egg hunt & visit to the farm

This morning we took the boys to their last egg hunt.  This one was a community hunt at Cornwall Manor.  Since it was so close we rode our bikes there.

Despite being really chilly, the boys had a good time.  Owen noticed right away that the Easter bunny was just someone dressed up.  The person's neck was completely showing which gave it away.  I told him that the real Easter bunny is so busy this time of year that he has special helpers that dress up like him, but that he shouldn't tell Adam because he thinks he's real.  Adam was happy to wave, yell "hi", and show the Easter bunny how he can hop, as long as he was a good distance away.

After the egg hunt we met Nana Way at the farm to see the new baby horse.

She was born on Owen's birthday... just 6 days ago!
All I could think about was how big she is and how much pain that mama had to endure while giving birth.

Once they let the mama and baby outside, all the baby wanted to do was run, jump, play...

And eat.
