Our Weekend

What a weekend...a very emotional one for sure.

Friday evening Mike, Owen, and my dad were playing kickball and Mike cut the top of his head on our shed window.  It kept bleeding and although it was small, it was deep and probably could have used a stitch or two.  Uncle Boo put a butterfly bandage on it, but the next morning when I took it off, his cut was still bleeding.  We were leaving for a Phillies baseball game in a few hours, but we both thought he should maybe get a stitch put in so he called the emergency room and they were not full so off he went. Turns out he waited to long to get stitched up and they have to do it right away because of the risk of infection.  He kept a butterfly bandage on it for our bus trip to Philadelphia and everyone kept asking him what happened.  He started making up stories about fighting ninjas, bows and arrows, and all sorts of other funny things.

For our anniversary, I surprised Mike with tickets to a Phillies game.  My friend does a bus trip, tailgate, and Phillies game fundraiser a few times a year for her Relay for Life team.  It rained a bit during the tailgate, but cleared up just in time for the game.
The stadium was amazing.  We had a lot of fun, but I just couldn't get my mind off our friend's little boy that is very sick.  T has a bacterial infection that has caused his kidneys to fail.  They were hoping to start dialysis tonight, but I just found out they were unable to...hopefully in the morning.  We are all praying he shows some improvement soon.  T is one of Owen's best buddies and it breaks our hearts to know what they are going through.

We loaded the bus to come home around 11pm ish and everyone pretty much slept.  All of a sudden the bus started veering off the road and hitting the rumble strips.  People started yelling and jumping up to go take the wheel of the bus.  Our bus driver fell asleep while driving our bus!!!  She woke up and told us she was OK.  It was very scary and everyone was wide awake for the remainder of our trip.  Earlier that day another bus carrying 24 passengers was in an accident and overturned injuring 20 people around the same place where our bus started to go off the road.

Needless to say, I was very anxious to pick up our boys from Finney's house this morning.  We spent the rest of the day hanging out at home.

I am hoping for a very positive week with lots of good news!
