Our Weekend- part 3

My cousin, Jesse, was home from Florida for a few days so my aunt and uncle had a get together at their place on Sunday afternoon.  We had a great time!  Owen's favorite part was riding and DRIVING their Kubota all over the place.

Adam's favorite part was probably eating all the watermelon.  He had at least 4 huge slices and heaven forbid you try to take it away from him.  He was covered in watermelon juice.  He enjoyed feeding their dog some watermelon and then he'd take a bite, then he'd feed the dog again, then himself.  I normally would be totally grossed out and not let him do that, however he dropped his watermelon a few times in the dirt and kept eating it so I figured what's a little dog slobber too?

He kept propping himself up against the tree to eat.  He took his watermelon eating pretty seriously.

Owen had his fair share of watermelon too!

We ate delicious food, listened to great music, played Frisbee, and celebrated Beau's birthday.

Such a ham!
What a great ending to a wonderful weekend.  We have bug bites, bruises, scrapes, and sun kissed cheeks to prove it :)

Our Weekend- part 2

We've had such a fun filled weekend that I am going to have to break it into 3 parts.  So here is part 2 of 3.

Saturday night we made smores with Maddie, Below, Aunt Judy, and Uncle Boo.  Owen ran about 142 laps around their yard so even though he had a nap that afternoon and way too many cookies, marshmallows, and chocolate, he fell right asleep at bedtime.  I took some pictures, but all of them came out blurry.  I am still learning how to take pictures in the late evening.  Not that easy for me.

Sunday morning we headed over to the Riding Club to meet Nana Way.  They were having a fun event for kids and we wanted to check it out.  First, we said hello to some adorable Alpacas.

I was almost convinced that we needed to start an Alpaca farm after seeing these cute faces and listening to their sweet little noises.  Their fur is incredibly soft too.  These cuties were just shaved.

Then, it was time for the pony rides.  I wasn't sure if either boy would ride a pony.  Owen made Adam go first which was fine with Adam.

He had a grand time.  Loved every minute of it.  Although I'm not sure what he liked better... riding the pony or flirting with the three girls walking the pony.
Photobucket
Owen went next and loved it too.
Photobucket
In fact, he loved it so much that he went on four pony rides.  Mike and I figured we probably spent enough money on pony rides to rent our very own pony for at least a month.  haha!  I'm thinking Owen needs to take a few lessons since he enjoyed it so much.

After the pony rides Nana Way took us to see Lill.  She was a very sweet horse.  Owen was a little scared of Lill, but not Adam.

After our adventure with the horses, we went to Mike's soccer game.  He used to play on this over 30 team, but after an injury and deciding he wanted to train for some races, he stopped.  They were in need of a few subs for today's game so Mike and Below stepped in.  I had fun trying to take some action shots.

The boys were really good.  Owen kept yelling very encouraging things to Mike.  Mike scored a goal and Owen screamed "Daddy, that was un-be-lievable!"  I was sure we'd be chasing Adam all over the place and pulling him off the field, but he was really good.  He enjoyed feeding us Nilla Wafers.  We left at half time so we could get home for naps because we had yet another fun activity planned for the evening.

Stay tuned for part 3 of our crazy fun weekend...

Our Weekend- part 1

What a crazy, fun, busy weekend!

Friday afternoon my mom stopped over with a very special surprise for Adam.  I've been searching yard sales and Craigslist for a Cozy Coupe car and have had no luck.  Lala decided to get a new one from Wal-Mart.  Owen loves riding in it too, but we told him it is Adam's since he has his own bikes.
Don't worry... we put his mouth on after I took the picture.

Then, later that evening Aunt Judy stopped over to bring me this...

Are we well taken care of or what?!?

Friday night Mike and I went on a double date with Maddie and Below.  When your cousin is dating one of your husband's best friends it makes for a fun night out!  I should have taken a picture of the four of us, but I forgot my camera (surprise, surprise).

Saturday we went to a 4th birthday party for Owen's friend, Tyler.  He had a pirate party and it was definitely one of the coolest birthday parties I've ever been to.  We were very proud of Owen.  He was anxious about the party and even got a little upset at the beginning, but by the end he was having a blast, participating, and didn't want to leave.  What a relief!  Hopefully the positive experience he had gives him some confidence for future parties!  I had fun practicing with my camera and took over 140 pictures :)  Also, I just discovered Photobucket.  I found that downloading my pictures there and then using the HTML codes to put the pictures on my blog makes for much clearer pictures :)  Here are a "few" pictures from the pirate party...

We entered the party through a little stone building.  There were two smoke machines which helped to make it a little "spooky" and that's where the kids got to choose their tatoo and get some cool pirate gear like bandannas and necklaces.  We brought Owen's pirate costume, but he would only wear the hat for part of the time.

Next, Tyler's dad led the kids on an amazing treasure hunt.  First, everyone took a Pirate Oath.  ARRRRR!!!

The kids loved searching for the clues to find the hidden treasure.

Random Things

- Yesterday after I picked Owen up from daycare and we were about to walk in the door he told me he had some very bad news.... he did not go potty all day at Linda's house.  I'm not sure if it's true or not, but I told him he must make sure to go a few times while he is there.  I have a feeling they had him go, but he just forgot.  So I made him go potty right away and that's when he discovered that he never put underwear on that morning.  HAHA!  So he went to daycare all day without undies and since he insists on dressing himself every morning, I had no idea.  I forgot to check this morning if he put them on or not.  Oops!
-  This morning I took Adam to PetSmart again.  It was too hot to play outside and I wanted to take him somewhere free and airconditioned where he could walk around and get some exercise.  He loved it!  We saw lots of fish, birds, guinea pigs, a dog, and some kitty cats.  There were two cats getting shaved so I guess it's not all that odd that we get Cheech shaved.
-  I'm sad to report that both stink bugs that I captured in my stink bug trap escaped :(  They stayed in the trap all day yesterday and before bed I saw another one almost going in, but when I woke up this morning all were gone.  Hmmmm.... maybe I will have to revise the trap so they can't get out.  Little buggers!!!
This plastic ice cream cone is Adam's favorite thing at Club Kid.  He looks for it every time we are there.
-  The caterpillars are doing well.  They keep eating and eating and eating, just like in the book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" which I read to the boys today :)
-  Today, after Adam napped, I picked Owen up from Linda's house and I took the boys to Club Kid at the mall.  Again, I was looking for something to do that would allow them to release some energy, but because of the extreme heat, I wanted it to be inside.  That's where most of the picture are from.  We had a great time!
Adam is growing up so fast and today I really noticed it.  For one... Linda commented on how tall he is and I seriously think he grew over night.  This morning he was able to get up on the rocker and couch on the porch without help.  He has always needed my help in doing this.  While we were at Club Kid he was definitely more independent than last time.  He could climb the little ladder and situate his legs correctly to go down the slide all by himself!  Before he would just go head first unless I helped him sit the right way.  Just another sign that he is growing up.  He also played with Play-doh today for the first time at the kitchen table.

And this afternoon, while Mike and I were outside mulching, Adam wanted to blow bubbles.  Mike got out the things for him and poured the bubbles and Adam knew exactly what to do.  He was actually able to move the little wand thingy and make bubbles!  Geesh, before I know it he'll be tying his own shoes.
Stay tuned for our summer bucket list :)  Owen helped me come up with some things today.  We just have to check with daddy to see if he'd like to add anything.
